Having been a fan of Saigon Saigon since 2004 (and not having been in for almost that long) I was delighted to come in for some Chinese buffet the other day. The restaurant has changed quite a bit since 2004, with a stylish interior and on the day we visited it was busy - but we still only waited around 5 minutes for a table. The buffet food was fresh and delicious, with all the favourites like crispy seaweed, spring rolls and chilli chicken available and piping hot. The wine list was good too - and there were a few options for dessert, although I was too full! Will definitely be back - the best place to enjoy Chinese buffet in Edinburgh. And I'm dying to try the Dim Sum too, as the next table had some and it looked yummy.
So the food was exceptionally good, all cooked fresh to order. Be aware that a dish will serve two as it comes on a 10 inch platter.
We can highly recommend the beef in black bean sauce, chicken satay, stir fried mushrooms, egg fried rice and vegetable rice. After that no room for anything else.
Had a meal last night unexpected was just looking for somewhere to have something to eat staff were friendly portion sizes were huge we were both stuffed and hardly put a dent in our meals can say it's one of the best Chinese meals I have had
